Singapore’s vibrant dining scene continues to flourish with the opening of new quick-service-restaurant WeWa (pronounced ‘weey-wah’) at Orchard Gateway.
Committed to serving fresh, addictive, and affordable cuisine, WeWa brings the irresistible allure of shawarma and other tasty Middle Eastern street food into a vibrant, fast-paced setting designed for today’s busy diners – expect bold flavours, connection in every bite, and a rhythm that keeps pace with life.
Fresh and Wholesome Flavours Made On The Spot
At WeWa, flavour begins long before the first bite. The tantalising shawarma meats are marinated for over 12 hours in a proprietary blend of spices, then meticulously layered onto spits weighing up to 25kg. Slow-roasted at carefully calibrated temperatures, the meats cook evenly to develop deep, robust flavours while remaining tender and juicy – a spectacle that takes centre stage in WeWa’s open kitchen.
Every element at WeWa is crafted fresh daily, from the crispy falafel to the luscious house-made tahini, which is prepared daily to ensure a silky, nutty finish that ties each dish together.
The star attractions are the expertly crafted proteins, each marinated in distinct spice blends tailored to complement their natural characteristics. The Chicken Shawarma features tender slices enhanced by a bright, aromatic marinade that highlights the poultry’s natural flavours. The Beef Shawarma is slow-cooked to perfection in a deeper, more complex blend of earthy spices, cinnamon, and coriander seeds that complements the rich, robust character of the meat. Seafood enthusiasts can savour the Prawn Shawarma, with locally sourced prawns grilled in a specially crafted spice mix that accentuates their natural sweetness. The Falafel – made with blended chickpeas and spices in a crispy coating – rounds out the offerings with its satisfying plant-based appeal.
These premium proteins can be enjoyed in various iterations – Junior Pitas ($6-$9) for a quick bite, full-sized pillow-soft Pitas ($11-$16) for heartier appetites, protein-rich Keto Bowls ($14-$19) for health-conscious diners, and fragrant Rice Bowls ($11-$16) for those craving comfort food.
Each serving is brimming with quintessentially Middle Eastern toppings prepared fresh in-house: pickled cabbage, fresh tomatoes, mint and coriander salad, sumac onions, pickled cucumbers, plus house-made zhug, or hot sauce made with green chillis and coriander, and harissa for those seeking an extra kick of flavour. The experience is completed with a choice of signature sauces – the silky house-made tahini and tangy amba sauce, an earthy green mango chutney that adds a sour-spicy finish to every bite.
Rounding out the offerings are irresistibly extra-crispy and addictive WeWa Fries ($5), thirst-quenching house made Gazoz sodas ($2.90) – a well-loved Middle Eastern ‘street’ drink prepared with soda and tinged with different natural fruit-based syrups such as hibiscus, apricot, cucumber, peach and pomegranate , and desserts including a traditional Malabi ($5) – a creamy Middle Eastern coconut cream pudding infused with delicate floral notes and crunchy
toppings of peanuts and coconut flakes.
Party Boxes to bring the celebration home are in the pipeline of launching.

A Space to Connect
At WeWa, it is all about people sharing, laughing, and eating together. While the food is crafted for those on the go, the space invites guests to pause and enjoy a moment of connection. Whether it is a quick stop during a busy day or a casual catch-up with friends, WeWa offers a vibrant pit stop for nourishment. The bright, airy interior is thoughtfully designed to encourage guests to sit, savour a bite, and let the flavours transport them to a sense of home, a celebration, or simply a place where the soul feels nourished.
Interactive Dining Experience
The location buzzes with an interactive dining experience centred around an open kitchen where guests can watch their meal being prepared a la minute. Diners can choose between making their order with the counter staff or using self-ordering kiosks for a customised experience at their own pace. This transparent approach to food preparation underscores WeWa’s dedication to quality and craftsmanship throughout the dining experience.
Urban Design Meets Culinary Authenticity
WeWa’s eye-catching orange branding and bold visual identity capture its energetic, urban spirit. The restaurant’s clean, contemporary design creates an inviting atmosphere that appeals to a diverse clientele from students and young professionals to families and foodies. Unlike typical quick-service establishments, WeWa balances efficient service with genuine culinary craft, bringing the sight, smell and taste of street food to a polished setting without losing authenticity or flavour.
The brand has been designed with expansion in mind, with additional locations across Singapore over the next three years, followed by expansion into Southeast Asia.
