If you’re in the Dawson-Queenstown neighbourhood, you’ll be happy to know that there’s a new café on your doorstep: Urban Folks, a small Aussie-style spot that’s just opened in the all-new Margaret Market. Inspired by her time studying in Melbourne, where she fell in love with the cafe culture, Vernetta Fong decided to bring her favourite jaffles—stuffed toasties with the sides sealed shut—back home to Singapore.
The cafe is all laid-back vibes with warm wood furnishings and lush plant displays. For food, you can get your hands on a selection of jaffles—sealed toasties—priced from $7, as well as other grilled sandwiches. For sweets, try their The Urban Bowl, an organic açai concoction with mixed fresh fruit and your sauce of choice.
