Tiong Bahru Hainanese Boneless Chicken Rice has taken over the former Ju Xing Home space at Takashimaya, unveiling its first full-service restaurant in the heart of Orchard. Known for its decades-long heritage and loyal following, the family-run brand brings its signature chicken rice into a more refined setting, marking a new chapter for the hawker favourite as it expands beyond its market-stall roots.
The new restaurant channels the nostalgia of 1980s Tiong Bahru Market with old-school tiles, mosaic textures, and warm timber accents blended with contemporary touches. Diners can look forward to the brand’s classic chicken rice, now accompanied by an expanded selection of dishes and thoughtful enhancements—such as multiple rice options and the brand’s first-ever fully serviced dine-in experience with over 70 seats.
Beyond its flagship dish, the menu features a variety of zi char favourites, along with coffee from Common Man Coffee Roasters, specialty teas, light desserts, and even noodle options for those seeking something different. Designed as a space to “linger a little longer,” this Takashimaya outpost introduces a polished, sit-down experience that elevates one of Singapore’s most beloved comfort foods.
