The Masses is a beloved French-Asian restaurant led by Chef Dylan, formerly of the renowned Saveuer. Recently, The Masses relocated from Beach Road to The Arcade @ The Capitol Kempinski, offering a larger dining space to accommodate its growing fanbase. Their menu is an affordable blend of French-Asian fusion, starting with the signature Purple Cabbage, a wedge of braised purple cabbage topped with ikura in a creamy broth featuring sliced Hokkaido scallops and pickled fennel. For mains, the Duck Confit is a must-try, combining wok hei-infused kway teow with a confit duck leg, house-cured yolk, and a trio of mushrooms—enoki, shiitake, and shimeji.
At The Masses, the philosophy revolves around the concept of ‘众’ (people), encapsulating the mission to spread happiness through exceptional food and service. Chef Dylan fosters a joyful environment among his staff, who in turn, create delightful dining experiences for the guests. This cycle of happiness completes itself when the satisfaction of the patrons brings joy back to Chef Dylan and the team. The menu changes every four months, keeping the offerings fresh and prices accessible, because they believe that better food is always betterer with the betterest people.
What sets The Masses apart is their unwavering commitment to hospitality and culinary excellence. They pride themselves on crafting French dishes with an Asian twist, using locally sourced ingredients that peak with the European seasons. The team, treated like family, brings warmth and passion to every plate and interaction. In addition to the food, they have a deep love for raw organic wines and are embarking on creating in-house “Umeshu/Mikanshu/Yuzu-shu”. Whether visitors are there for a meal or just a drink at the bar, The Masses promises a sincere and enjoyable experience that reflects their roots in Singaporean hawker culture and their dedication to culinary innovation.
