Teh Tarik is a popular drink made with black tea and condensed milk, prepared by skillfully pouring and “pulling” the tea to create frothy, aromatic goodness. Tarik at 92 Arab Street, founded by Ali ‘Sheikh’ Redha a former flight attendant, originally started as a smaller kiosk.
It has since upgraded to a larger space to cater to its growing popularity, and also become a well-loved photo-spot. Do note that Tarik currently does not offer dine-in seating due to regulatory restrictions, but it does provide a few benches for customers to enjoy their drinks.
The shop is well-known for its range of freshly-brewed beverages like Teh Tarik, Teh Halia, and Saffron Iced Milk Tea prepared with spices. There are also other variations such as Teh Tarik Pandan, Teh Tarik Pudina which is Mint Milk Tea, Chai and Coffee. The tea recipes are said to be inspired by both Singaporean Teh Tarik and Masala Chai from the owner’s travels in India and the Middle East.
