Margaret Drive Sin Kee Chicken Rice is a renowned stall beloved by many chicken rice enthusiasts. Following the passing of Mr. Leong, the stall’s late owner, his two sons have taken up the mantle to continue the legacy of the brand. Recently, they reopened Sin Kee Chicken Rice (Margaret Drive) in Ubi, with Niven, one of Mr. Leong’s sons, at the helm. After a three-year hiatus from the culinary world, Niven now leads the Ubi stall, ensuring the use of the original chicken rice recipe passed down from his father.
There are currently seven branches under the Sin Kee name, but only some maintain a direct connection to the original establishment. For instance, Margaret Drive Chicken Rice at Holland Drive is managed by Mr. Leong’s other son, Benson. Despite the multiple branches, the Ubi stall stands out with its commitment to tradition. Diners can enjoy the 1 Person Set ($6), which includes a plate of chicken rice, a side, and the vegetable of the day. For those preferring non-breast meat, an additional $1 charge applies.
The Ubi stall, located at Recess Time @ Ubi, a food court just a nine-minute walk from Ubi MRT Station, offers various add-ons to enhance the meal. Options include a Side of the Day ($0.80), Soup of the Day ($1.80), and Vegetable of the Day ($0.80). Customers can also add more meat, with prices starting at $3 for breast meat and $5 for non-breast meat. With its rich history and dedication to quality, Sin Kee Chicken Rice continues to be a favorite among chicken rice aficionados.
