Shifu Food Court

Shifu Food Court, located in Bras Basah Complex at 231 Bain Street, has reopened following a $350,000 revamp. The 24-hour, air-conditioned venue, which has been a staple since 2001, has already seen brisk business in its first week, according to Shin Min Daily News. The reopening brings back a total of 14 food stalls, offering a variety of options such as economic rice, noodles, porridge, as well as Japanese and Thai cuisine.

Among the highlights are Ah Gong KKM (ke kou mian), a stall started by 22-year-old NUS student Fang Yu, and Chun Feng Man Mian, renowned for its truffle wonton mee, also available at its Amoy Street Food Centre location. Situated near Singapore Management University (SMU) and the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), Shifu Food Court is expected to attract a wide range of patrons, from students to working professionals.

The revamped food court, named “Heritage of Flavours,” blends the old and new by offering a modern culinary experience in a nostalgic setting. With its alfresco dining area featuring heritage-themed decor, vibrant lights, and brightly coloured furnishings, diners are transported to a Singaporean dining scene reminiscent of old shophouses and street food stalls.
