Seoul Noodle Shop, Singapore’s first kalguksu specialty restaurant, has opened its third outlet at Suntec City, following successful launches in Tanglin and Tanjong Pagar. A fourth location is set to open at Junction 8 in March. Led by renowned Korean celebrity chefs Lee Won-il and Hong Seok Cheon, the restaurant is the first in Singapore to focus exclusively on kalguksu, traditional knife-cut noodles. Originally a pop-up at Tanglin Mall’s Market Blue, it quickly gained popularity and expanded into dedicated spaces. Chef Lee, known for Please Take Care of My Refrigerator, attended the opening, while Chef Hong, a celebrated restaurateur, has appeared on shows like Running Man.
The menu features 12 types of kalguksu, served with hand-cut noodles, homemade kimchi, and side dishes. Highlights include the pork bone spicy noodle soup, reminiscent of gamjatang, enriched with perilla seed powder. Other standouts include Yukgaejang noodles, dry bibim noodles with a special sauce, and cheese dakgalbi with torched mozzarella. A Singapore-inspired Busan shrimp noodle dish adds a local touch.
Seoul Noodle Shop also offers unique variations like half chicken noodles, a take on samgyetang, and creamy perilla noodles. Generous portions ensure a satisfying meal, best enjoyed fresh for optimal texture. With hearty flavours, quality ingredients, and reasonable prices, it’s a must-visit for Korean food lovers.
