PS.Gourmet Group unveils Park Side, a new casual all-day café concept designed as a welcoming cottage by the park. Open, relaxed, and made for lingering, Park Side draws inspiration from slow weekends and picnic afternoons, offering modern comfort food with a fun, local spirit.
Located at the main visitor entrance of the Singapore Botanic Gardens, Park Side is thoughtfully designed to be family, kid, and pet-friendly, making it a natural gathering place for friends and families to enjoy good food and cheeky company amidst nature.
Rooted in Singapore’s diverse culinary heritage, the Park Side menu draws on familiar Asian flavour profiles without attempting to replicate traditional local dishes. Instead, the focus is on reinterpreting taste memories, ingredients, and techniques to create food that feels both comforting and refreshingly new. Tropical fruits such as mango and tamarind, spices including turmeric and curry powder, and herbs like curry leaves and rojak flower feature prominently across the menu.
“With Park Side, our intention was to craft a cosy space where people can come together and enjoy a moment of respite,” said Michael Bovell, CEO of PS.Gourmet Group. “The menu celebrates Singapore’s diverse culinary heritage without directly replicating it. We recreate familiar local flavours through a Western lens, using tropical fruits, spices, and herbs in a way that feels comforting, flavour-forward, and approachable. The result is food that feels familiar yet new, designed to be enjoyed casually, shared easily, and savoured at a relaxed pace.”
Each dish is bold and flavour-forward, designed to stand confidently on its own while remaining balanced and approachable. The menu is casual and unfussy, featuring many tactile, easy-to-eat dishes that can be enjoyed by hand or with minimal cutlery, perfect for takeaway dining on a park bench or picnic ground. Even the packaging reflects this philosophy, designed to be torn open and laid out like a picnic mat for a shared outdoor feast.
