Delicious seafood and lashings of nostalgia are now on the menu with the launch of Lo Hey HK Seafood 捞起海鲜 in Holland Village.
Lo Hey HK Seafood brings an irresistible blend of fresh, delectable seafood and nostalgic charm to Holland Village. The new restaurant masterfully combines the vibrant essence of old Hong Kong’s beloved seafood establishments with a touch of cinematic flair, creating a dining experience that’s both delicious and reminiscent of Hong Kong’s golden era. Inspired by the golden age of Hong Kong cinema between the 1980s and 1990s, Lo Hey comes alive with neon lights, jade tiles, and live seafood in tanks. This design masterfully blends the essence of old Hong Kong scenes with a cinematic flair. The restaurant is meticulously designed to transport diners back to the iconic era when Hong Kong’s film industry was at its peak, a time when the city’s bustling streets and vibrant nightlife were palpable.
Neon signage beckons you inside, where large round tables and plush red chairs invite you to relax. Classic handwritten menus and live seafood tanks offer a traditional dining experience. While waiting, immerse yourself in the golden age of Hong Kong cinema with retro movie posters featuring stars like Chow Yun Fatt, Jackie Chan, and Ekin Cheng. Each visit feels like stepping onto a film set, transporting guests back to the city’s legendary cinematic heritage.
Catch a breath of fresh air in the alfresco dining area, which is also pet-friendly. Four-legged members of the family can now be part of the meal at Lo Hey, one of the first Chinese restaurants in One Holland V that allows pets.
On The Menu
A must-try is the LO HEY Tossed Chicken Salad 风生水起捞鸡 ($22.80), a Shunde dish of succulent poached chicken, accompanied by a tangy vinaigrette that ties together crisp cucumber, fragrant ginger, and crunchy carrot. Thinly sliced leek and red pepper add layers of subtle sharpness and sweetness. Deep-fried taro lends a satisfying crunch, while purple cabbage and kaffir lime leaves introduce a zesty, aromatic note. The dish is finished with a sprinkling of peanuts and fresh coriander. Toss to good luck all year long!
Bold red meat is perfected with the Nostalgic Braised Beef Short Ribs 古法焖牛小排 ($42.80), where the short ribs of prime 200-day grain-fed Australian Black Angus is braised for over two hours in a rich broth of tomatoes and potatoes, for fall-off-the-bone tenderness.
Warm the heart and stomach with the luxurious Hami Melon Sea Conch Chicken Soup 哈密瓜海螺炖鸡汤 ($58). Prepared over one day and simmered for eight hours, it combines fresh Xinjiang Hami melon, dried sea conch, scallops, pork ribs, and ginseng for a rich, savoury-sweet flavour, cherished for its health and beauty benefits. Add a touch of indulgence with premium fish maw at additional $40 per portion. Duck lovers will revel in the Traditional Soya Sauce Duck 古法豉油鸭 (Half $30, Whole $58), in which 100-days free-range duck is braised for two hours in the traditional Hong Kong way with a recipe concocted from over 20 ingredients, including galangal, dang gui and Hong Kong premium soy sauce. The duck is rendered to a melt-in-your softness, laced with explosive fragrance of the many herbs and spices.
Seafood bursts with flavour with the Wok Fried Uni Mayo Prawn Balls 海胆沙律虾 ($24.80) featuring large succulent tiger prawns deep-fried to golden crunch and drizzled with a rich, creamy sea urchin sauce.

The Steamed Fish with Pickled Chilli & Kiam Chye 泡椒酸菜蒸鱼 (From $10 per 100g) offers a tangy and spicy delight. Diners can pick a live fish from the tanks and have it steamed with Teochew preserved vegetables, Guangdong pickled chilli, sour plum, ginger, and leek for a touch of spicy, tangy kick. A sprinkle of crackling pork adds a satisfying crunch.
