LaPasta has become one of Orchard Towers’ most surprising success stories — a modest 14-seater pasta restaurant that’s redefining what it means to dine well in an unexpected location. Once known for its seedier past, the building has undergone a quiet transformation in recent years, now housing a growing number of popular dining spots. Among them, LaPasta has emerged as a social media favourite, celebrated for its handmade pastas that rival top city restaurants at far more approachable prices.
Founded by partners Sharin Lim and chef Jordan Cheong, LaPasta began as a humble ghost kitchen after their delivery venture at High Street. What started with 14 seats “for extra income” quickly became a full-fledged dining destination, now turning over tables up to eight times a night. Chef Cheong, who trained at Dolce Vita and Da Paolo, crafts a concise yet thoughtful menu of about 20 dishes, from classic Arrabiata to indulgent favourites like the Guanciale Carbonara and Rigatoni al Granchio made with housemade pasta and fresh crabmeat.
Open only for dinner and closed on Sundays, LaPasta thrives on its simplicity and substance. With hearty portions, refined technique, and prices that undercut many CBD competitors, it proves that good food doesn’t need a glamorous address — just genuine craftsmanship and a loyal crowd willing to follow the scent of great pasta anywhere.
