Each bite is a true taste of Taiwan’s rich culinary heritage, expertly crafted and ready to captivate the Singapore palate.
A Taste of Home, Crafted with Tradition
A labour of love inspired by the founder’s childhood memories of homecooked meals in Taiwan, Lao Ma Bàn Mian老媽拌麵 is a tribute to the comforting, hearty flavours that he grew up with. The brand’s founder Perry Chen (陈荣昌), CEO of Howsler Food Co. Ltd (好食乐食品股份有限公司), shares, “For many of us in Taiwan, Singapore, and Asia, a bowl of well-made noodles is the ultimate comfort food. When I was young, I would observe how my mother would skilfully transform simple ingredients into the most heartwarming dishes. At Lao Ma Bàn Mian 老媽拌麵, I hope to bring that familiar taste of home to every dish that we make, crafted with the same level of precision, care, and love that my mother would bring to the table. Her time-honoured secret recipes are reflected in many of our popular signature dishes, such as Dried Scallop Huadiao Chicken Noodles Soup, Chili Oil Preserved Egg & Meat Sauce Noodles, and Yipin Braised Beef Shank Noodles Soup.”
Authentic Taiwanese Flavours and Signature Noodle Specialties
What sets Lao Ma Bàn Mian 老媽拌麵 apart is its sun-dried Guan Miao noodles, made in Tainan using traditional methods to preserve their distinctive chewiness and aroma. These noodles come in two delectable varieties: Guan Miao (wavy) noodles (关庙波浪面), best for soaking up robustly flavoured sauces and soups, and Traditional Guan Miao noodles (传统关庙面), which deliver the perfect balance of smoothness and bite.

These expertly crafted noodles take centre stage among the must-try specialties at Lao Ma Bàn Mian老媽拌麵, including:
Chilli Oil Preserved Egg & Meat Sauce Noodles (红油皮蛋肉酱面)
A crowd favourite with its multifaceted flavours, these noodles offer an unctuous, umami-packed blend of smooth and creamy century egg, fragrant chilli oil, and savoury meat sauce.
Dried Scallop Huadiao Chicken Noodles Soup (干贝花雕鸡汤面)
A nourishing bowl of Traditional Guan Miao noodles, doused in a luxurious, slow-simmered broth made from whole hens, Jinhua ham, and scallops, enhanced with aromatic Huadiao wine.
Yipin Braised Beef Shank Noodles Soup (一品红烧牛腱面)
This Taiwanese classic is made extra special with Mom’s secret braising sauce, paired with a robust beef bone broth simmered with radish, spices and herbs. Lao Ma Bàn Mian 老媽拌麵 uses carefully selected beef shank, braised in an aromatic soy sauce with star anise, red peppercorns, green onions, garlic, ginger and other spices.
Taiwanese Spicy Mala Hot Pot Noodles Soup (台式麻辣火锅面)
Spicy, fragrant, and numbing, this mala soup is crafted from beef bones, vegetables, and a secret blend of Lao Ma’s Spicy Sauce, stir-fried with green and red peppercorns, sesame pepper, chilli, garlic, ginger, and other spices. Addictively tingling flavours awaken your appetite with every bite, complemented by a trove of delicious ingredients and Traditional Guan Miao noodles.
Garlic Fermented Soy Pork Chop Noodles (蒜香豆乳猪扒拌面)
A combination of Taiwan’s most well-loved street food delights, the humble pork chop is marinated in garlic and fermented tofu for more than 24 hours, which tenderises the meat and packs an umami punch like no other.
The speciality noodle house’s popular dishes also include the richly flavourful Braised Pork Trotter Noodles (卤猪脚拌面), Spicy Beef Brisket Noodles Soup (麻辣牛腩面), and Lao Ma Zha Dan Noodles (老妈炸担面), alongside a variety of mouthwatering, hearty rice dishes such as Fried Egg Braised Pork Rice (炸蛋卤肉饭) and Garlic Fermented Soy Chicken Chop Rice (蒜香豆乳炸鸡扒饭), among many others. The culinary delights are complemented by a range of sides, desserts, and Taiwanese beverages, including Taiwanese Milk Tea, Luoshan Roselle with Sour Plum Drink (古早味洛神酸梅汤), and Lishan Oolong Cold Brew Tea (梨山乌龙冷泡茶).
To bring diners the most authentic taste of Taiwan, Lao Ma Bàn Mian 老媽拌麵 imports its signature noodles, secret sauces, and Lao Ma Chilli Oil directly from Taiwan.
Established in 2013 as a premium noodle manufacturer, the brand currently operates its flagship restaurant in Taipei and franchise outlets in Hong Kong. It has partnered with the Select Group to launch its first outlet in Singapore.
“We are excited to bring to Singapore an authentic taste of Taiwan’s most well-loved noodle dishes with Lao Ma Bàn Mian 老媽拌麵,” says Vincent Tan Chor Khoon, Founder and Managing Director of Select Group. “Rooted in a rich noodle-making tradition, Lao Ma Bàn Mian 老媽拌麵embodies the comforting, homey flavours that make each bowl both delicious and heartwarming.”
