La Table d’Emma is an exciting addition to Singapore’s vibrant culinary landscape promises an authentic blend of Alsace traditions and classic French cuisine, curated by the visionary Chef Michael Muller.
Named after Chef Michael’s beloved wife, Emma, the restaurant embodies the essence of La table d’amis, or “the friends’ table” in French. La Table d’Emma aims to provide a warm, inviting environment where guests can share meals, create lasting memories, and build connections. The butterfly in the logo symbolises transformation and represents the potential within each individual, reminding us of the opportunity to transform our hearts and minds when we come together over a meal. For Chef Michael, this motif also holds sentimental value, harking back to his childhood home adorned with butterflies.
“La Table d’Emma is not just a restaurant; it’s a culmination of a lifelong passion for the art of cooking and the joy of bringing people together. I invite you to join us at the friends’ table, where every dish tells a story and every meal is an experience to be cherished”, says Chef Michael.
The Tarte Flambée, affectionately named La Flemmakueche, a harmonious blend of Emma’s name and the Alsatian culinary treasure, symbolising unity and love. Originating from a special encounter when Emma first visited Alsace all the way from Singapore, the Tarte Flambée became a catalyst for unity, breaking cultural and linguistic barriers between Emma and Chef Michael’s family. As the dish was served, hands reached out, laughter erupted and an immediate sense of belonging enveloped the gathering.
Another signature of La Table d’Emma is the Bouchée à la Reine, which transcends the realms of gastronomy and romance. Bouchée à la Reine is a romantic statement originally whipped up by a queen’s chef to reignite the spark in a royal romance.
Kickstart your culinary odyssey with the Seafood Bun with Comté Crust ($28). Chef Michael’s inspiration for this masterpiece arose from a desire to infuse French tradition into each bite, evident in the carefully crafted Comté crust with its nutty and complex flavours. Achieving the perfect balance of a golden, crispy crust without overshadowing the delicate seafood within was a meticulous dance of temperature and timing.
Conclude your dining experience at La Table d’Emma with the indulgent Le Mille-Feuille Vanille, Hazelnut Praline ($20), a dessert that showcases the pinnacle of pastry artistry. This sweet creation features layers of meticulously crafted puff pastry enveloping a decadent blend of vanilla cream and hazelnut praline.
