The closure of Korio’s Far East Square outlet in December last year left many fans disheartened, but the wait is finally over. The cult-favorite sandwich shop has reopened, this time with a permanent home at IOI Central Boulevard Towers. Unlike its previous takeaway-only setup, the new location offers dine-in seating, allowing customers to enjoy freshly grilled sandwiches on the spot. This exciting development marks a new chapter for Korio as it expands its menu to include both signature items and new creations, along with a selection of doughnuts and sides.
Korio’s new space spans over 600 square feet and is the result of a partnership with the Zouk Group. Andrew Li, CEO of Zouk Group, shared his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “The success of our pop-up demonstrated how much Korio resonates with its growing customer base… We’re excited to create a space that can meet demand while continuing to deliver the quality and experience our guests have come to love.” Fans can expect popular classics like the grilled cheese, made with whole wheat sourdough, a blend of American and cheddar cheeses, and caramelized onions, as well as the breakfast sammy, featuring luncheon meat and sauce gribiche on brioche.
Beyond sandwiches, Korio’s Brooklyn-inspired brioche doughnuts, with flavors such as cinnamon sugar and apple crumble, are poised to delight dessert lovers. Co-founders Myron and Shaz Tan reflected on the journey, saying, “This journey has always been about our dedication to creating timeless classics that people crave and are comforted by, and we’re eager to build on that foundation. Partnering with Zouk Group allows us to enhance our offerings and reach a broader audience, and together, we’re confident we can bring an elevated experience to both our loyal fans and new guests alike.”
