Chef Vincent Pang never planned to open a restaurant, but after running Pun Im since 2020, he is now going to launch Im Jai by Pun Im, a 40-seat casual Thai dining concept. Trained at Le Cordon Bleu in Bangkok, Pang was inspired to create the restaurant as a way to keep his mother engaged following the passing of his father in 2024. The space he found was ideal for a cozy eatery, and with a significant gap in the market between fine dining and casual Thai eateries in Singapore, he saw an opportunity to introduce something new.
Im Jai by Pun Im will cater primarily to the office crowd with all-day set meals featuring highlights from Pang’s private-dining menu. Signature dishes include spicy and sour pork rib soup with Thai mirepoix fried rice, as well as tom yum black tiger prawns paired with coconut kaffir lime rice. For those looking to indulge further, the restaurant will offer jumbo grilled river prawns from Thailand, served with signature dipping sauces. Desserts such as red ruby with smoked coconut sorbet add a sweet finish to the meal, while an evening menu will feature Thai craft beers, a snack platter, and other bar-friendly bites.
True to the spirit of Pun Im, Im Jai will continue Pang’s commitment to giving back, with a portion of proceeds dedicated to charity. His passion for Thai cuisine goes beyond flavours—he aims to serve food that nourishes both heart and soul. With its unique blend of homely comfort and bold flavours, Im Jai by Pun Im bridges the gap between casual and refined Thai dining, offering an experience that is both satisfying and heartfelt.
