Newly opened at Bukit Merah Enterprise Centre, Home by Enjoy is the latest dining concept by chef Joel Ong, developed in collaboration with local filmmaker Jack Neo. Rooted in the idea of nourishment through familiarity, the restaurant presents a shiok take on yang sheng dining, where local comfort food is designed to warm, restore and care. The guiding question behind the concept is a simple one: what would you cook for someone you love?
Created together with Come Here Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinic, the menu focuses on balance, warmth and long-term wellbeing. Signature Enjoy dishes sit alongside familiar hawker-inspired flavours and seasonal additions, with several recipes incorporating Chinese medicinal herbs. The collaboration extends further with selected dishes prepared using Chu Collagen Soup, a homegrown soup brand founded by Jack Neo’s daughter, reinforcing the restaurant’s emphasis on intention, family and shared values rather than name recognition.
The interiors echo this home-first philosophy. Antique marble tables, round stools and retro Chinese tableware recall the comfort of dining at a grandparent’s house, while vintage posters and a kampung-style kitchen corner add gentle nostalgic touches. The space is spacious and welcoming, striking a balance between character and comfort without feeling overly styled or cluttered.
On the table, flavours are unapologetically hearty and generous. Yang sheng dishes such as braised pork trotter, claypot offal and ginseng-baked kampung chicken are rich and warming, while chilled starters like the Classic Yusheng offer moments of freshness between heavier plates. Designed for sharing and satisfaction, Home by Enjoy embraces bold seasoning and communal dining, delivering a comforting experience that feels less like eating out and more like coming home.
