Heavenly Wang, one of Singapore’s oldest halal-certified Nanyang café brands, unveils a bold new chapter with the reopening of its long-time outlet at Swing By @ Thomson Plaza, now reborn as a vibrant showcase of “newstalgia”, where classic flavours meet modern creativity.
For over seven decades, Heavenly Wang has been a familiar name synonymous with comforting kopi, kaya toast, and warm connections. What began as a humble coffeeshop in 1953 has grown into a national icon, a place where generations have come together over the simple joy of breakfast and conversation. The newly revamped Thomson Plaza outlet pays homage to this heritage while reimagining the Nanyang café experience for today’s lifestyles.
A Familiar Taste, Made New
Currently available exclusively at Heavenly Wang’s outlet at Swing By @ Thomson Plaza, the new all-day menu blends comfort and creativity, introducing playful twists on well-loved favourites – all affordably priced below $10!
Among the new highlights include Laksa Poached Rice ($6.90), a spin-off of Heavenly Wang’s top-selling dish. Combining the comforting creaminess of laksa gravy and its classic ingredients with “pao fan” including the crispy rice topping, every spoonful is a warm hug in your mouth. A long-awaited comeback, Nasi Lemak (from $5.50) features fragrant and fluffy coconut-steamed rice, flavourful chicken, peanuts and anchovies.
Other than the Classic Fried Chicken Wing Nasi Lemak ($5.50), go for the Green Spiced Boneless Chicken Nasi Lemak ($8) or Sambal Balado Boneless Chicken Nasi Lemak ($8) which feature the Indo-styled marinated boneless chicken thigh in either green or sambal balado chilli for different variations of spiciness. With nothing above $10, one can enjoy a tasty and fulfilling meal alongside the option to top up $1.50 for selected drinks during lunch or dinner time. This makes Heavenly Wang a favourite spot amongst diners who are looking for a fast, convenient and comfortable environment to dine in.
For breakfast, tea-time, a snack or even a light meal, the Golden Garlic Toasted Bun will delight. The soft yet crisp buns are generously spread with fragrant garlic butter, available in three irresistible variations: Original ($2.80), Turkey Ham Bunwich ($3.80), and Chicken Luncheon Bunwich ($4.50). Since their opening, the golden garlic series had been a popular choice amongst customers.

Besides the new addition of Garlic Series, Heavenly Wang also launched a series of Molten Cream Buns – inspired by Thai-styled Yaowarat Buns. The brand’s own version of this creation is uniquely new and invites customers to sprinkle toppings to their own liking. The luscious spread is generously creamed over their signature aromatic Kopi Bun and comes with toppings based on the different flavours offered – Kaya Cream with Coconut Flakes ($2.80), Milo-Dinosaur inspired flavour ($2.80) and Biscoff Cream with Biscoff Crumbs ($3.20). Besides Thomson Plaza, customers will be delighted to know it will also be launched in all other Heavenly Wang outlets by 18 November 2025, as part of their Christmas collection.
Speaking of buns, there are still more fluffy innovations that will keep you coming back for more. Bringing you back in time is the Coconut Ice Cream on Toasted Bun ($4.80), a nostalgic treat reinvented with toasted bun, coconut ice cream, and coconut flakes for a tropical touch. Additional topping such as chocolate sauce is also offered for an extra-dimension to the treat.
Finish your meal with Kopi-O Affogato ($3.80), a playful local spin on the Italian dessert, pairing rich kopi-o (neat) with coconut ice cream for a uniquely Singaporean finish.
Designed for Today, Rooted in Tradition
The refreshed interiors echo the brand’s newstalgic spirit — industrial chic meets retro charm, accented by textures and details inspired by vintage kopi shops. It’s a space designed for everyone, from young families to old friends, to reconnect over the timeless ritual of coffee and toast.
To mark the occasion, Heavenly Wang pays tribute to the iconic floral motif on traditional ceramic kopi cups with limited-edition takeaway cups featuring a modern interpretation and extended design of the floral motif. The cups are a perfect blend of style and sentimentality for café-goers who want to take a piece of nostalgia on the go. This is manifested alongside the store design, which further accentuated the Nanyang culture in a trendy and modern look that is easily identifiable.
