Beloved for its nostalgic kopitiam experience and elevated Nanyang-inspired dishes, Great Nanyang Heritage Café is proud to announce the opening of its newest outlet in the east at Changi City Point in May. To celebrate, Great Nanyang is offering their signature Nanyang coffee and tea at $1 each on weekdays only from now till 30 May.
Great Nanyang was born from the vision of Keith Kang, founder of Yang Ming Seafood and a proud Penangite, who set out to preserve and share the fading charm of the classic kopitiam. Inspired by the warmth, flavours, and spirit of the old-school coffee houses found across Malaysia and Singapore, Great Nanyang revives the rich heritage of kopitiam culture in every cup of coffee brewed and plates of dish served. The newest outlet at Changi City Point brings this vision to life with a twist, pairing kampung vibes with a retro industrial shopfront feel reminiscent of old-school coffee shops, back-alley workshops and stores that used to line the streets of old Singapore and Malaysia.

What to Expect at Great Nanyang Changi City Point
Designed to evoke the gritty charm of retro coffee shops and industrial buildings Changi Business Park is known for, the outlet has metallic walls, rustic wooden panels and furniture, hanging tools and knick-knacks and an interior reminiscent of an industrial hardware shop. This new outlet continues the brand’s mission of reviving the classic kopitiam experience in a refreshed, Instagram-worthy setting.
The Changi City Point outlet will offer Great Nanyang signature coffeeshop favourites such as the Signature Hainanese Chicken Cutlet ($15.90). One of Keith’s favourite foods, he tasted over 20 renditions of Hainanese Chicken Chops islandwide before perfecting his own rendition, made exclusive to Great Nanyang by a sauce he concocted from home using premium butter and fragrant pandan leaves amidst other ingredients. Other signature dishes include the Chicken Berempah Leg Nasi Lemak Kukus ($8.90) which serves up fragrant and fluffy steamed coconut rice made from long-grain basmati rice and a side of hot sambal slow-cooked for full flavour and paired with tender chicken thigh marinated to full flavour.
The Kaya Butter Toast is also not to be missed, for breakfast or a sweet treat in between meals, Great Nanyang offers a selection of handmade kaya toast in a choice of traditional ($2.70), thick ($3) or wholemeal ($3.50). Made using bread that is freshly-baked daily by an old-school supplier, it sandwiches between their house-made kaya and premium butter.
Fans can also look forward to dishes that were previously introduced at its Geneo outlet, such as the fluffy steamed buns with options including the Mashed Taro Steam Bun ($4.80), Otak-Otak Steam Bun ($4.80) and more.
Mainstays such as the Penang White Curry Noodle ($8.90), features a creamy coconut-based broth with familiar curry laksa ingredients such as prawns, beansprouts, fish balls and tau pok. The flavour is amplified with the spoonful of curry paste, add as little or as much you like, for your ultimate mee kari penang. These join other dishes such as the Nanyang Style Dry Curry Prawn ($18) which serves up wok-fried sweet, fresh prawns with a delectable spicy sauce that is best paired with white rice.
