Korean fried chicken is a favorite in Singapore, and Doran Chicken brings the authentic flavors of Daegu—the ‘mecca’ of Korean fried chicken. It has recently opened in Orchard Gateway. Known for its annual chimaek (chicken and beer) festival, Daegu takes fried chicken seriously. Chef-founder Shin, with 12 years of experience running his own chicken place in Daegu, is passionate about introducing these bold Daegu flavors to Singapore.
At Doran Chicken, each piece of chicken is aged for a week in traditional Korean clay pots (onggi) before being fried, and even the sauces are aged in onggi for a deeper, richer taste. Diners can choose from flavors like Dalcom Spicy, Volcano Spicy, 1978 Soy Sauce, and the Original, offering options for all spice levels.
Beyond fried chicken, Doran Chicken serves classic Daegu-style sides such as soupy tteokbokki, savory flat dumplings with sweet and spicy squid salad, tuna rice balls, and garlic cheese corn fritters, creating a well-rounded and authentic Korean dining experience.
