This month, Daily Beer, South Korea’s largest craft beer and fried chicken chain, opens its second outlet in Singapore at the historic Chijmes. The popular chain made its debut in Singapore back in May, quickly becoming a favorite in the CBD among the post-work crowd for its signature combination of crispy fried chicken and craft brews—known in Korea as chimaek, or “chicken and beer.” A few months later, Daily Beer also introduced a family-friendly sister concept, Daily Chicken, specializing in Korean street food.
The new 52-seater Chijmes location offers a more laidback ambience with courtyard and alfresco seating, contrasting with the bustling vibe of the Telok Ayer unit. Fans will also enjoy fresh additions to the menu, especially in the beer selection. Known for co-producing unique brews with small Korean breweries, Daily Beer is introducing several Singapore-exclusive creations, only served at the Chijmes store. Among these are the award-winning Gijang Sour Weiss, a dry-hopped sour ale with a tart, fruity flavor, and the Modern IPA, with tropical notes of passionfruit, pineapple, and citrus. Locally produced brews such as the Chijmes Hazy IPA and Chijmes Pale Ale also make their debut.
Alongside its unique beer offerings, the new Chijmes outlet will serve the signature Angry Bird chicken in four distinct flavors. For those wanting variety, the half and half option combines the original fried chicken with one additional flavor—spicy sauce, sweet garlic soy, or the extra crunchy cornflake-coated variety with sweet and spicy garlic seasoning. To round out the meal, try a side of the original cheese balls, reminiscent of those served at BHC, another popular Korean fried chicken chain. Beer enthusiasts can also sample a range of flavors with the tasting flight, offering five samplers of Daily Beer’s top brews.
