There’s a fresh new reason to wander up Dempsey Hill — and it’s called Curly’s, the latest concept by the Ebb & Flow Group (the same team behind Chin Mee Chin Confectionery and Casa Vostra). This 8,000-square-foot destination is part grocer, part bakery, and part all-day restaurant, seamlessly blending good taste with thoughtful living.
At the heart of the concept is Curly’s Market, a curated grocer offering fresh, mostly organic produce sourced from partner farms in Brunei and small, independent producers across Asia and beyond. Expect everything from Japanese Kajiya beef and Kampot pepper from Cambodia to Jeju dairy products and Italian bean-to-bar chocolates. A special in-house range, Curly’s Creations, turns surplus produce into ready-to-eat meals, sauces, and condiments — like the house-made Umami Crunch chilli oil and grass-fed beef bone stock.
Just next door, Curly’s Bakery invites guests to linger over wholesome pastries, freshly brewed coffee, cold-pressed juices, and Erewhon-inspired smoothies — including the signature Curly’s Smoothie with collagen peptides and red dragonfruit syrup. Meanwhile, Curly’s Dining extends the experience into an all-day bistro that transitions beautifully from breakfast to dinner. Morning favourites include kaya brioche and Jeju abalone porridge, while lunch and dinner bring comforting plates like pork porchetta, prawn dumplings, and pork lard fried rice. Cocktails by award-winning bartender June Baek add a refreshing twist, with light, fruit-forward mixes perfect for Dempsey’s leafy setting.
Out back, a lush garden co-tended with Atout supplies herbs and vegetables to the kitchen — and offers a pet-friendly outdoor escape. With plans for farmers’ markets, cooking workshops, and chef showcases in the pipeline, Curly’s is shaping up to be Dempsey’s next must-visit lifestyle haven.
