A Crayon Shinchan-themed pop-up café is set to open in Singapore from 19 June 2025, offering a playful dining experience inspired by the beloved Japanese cartoon character. Located within Taiwanese eatery Wong Fu Fu on North Bridge Road, the café is brought to life by the same team behind Singapore’s first Miffy hot pot pop-up. Expect a cheeky menu full of Shinchan-themed dishes, including the standout seafood curry rice featuring rice sculpted into Shinchan’s iconic butt, and the hilariously named Piak! Piak! Shinchan Butt Japanese Parfait layered with vanilla sponge, caramel crumble and strawberries.
The extensive menu also includes less risqué options like a Japanese chicken katsu burger with tater tots and salad, or Wong Fu Fu’s signature Taiwanese mini bowls featuring braised beef noodles, smoked duck fried rice, and ramen egg. For groups, there are six shareable snacks served in Chocobi biscuit boxes – a nod to Shinchan’s favourite treat – with choices like truffle fries, sweet potato fries with plum powder, and tater tots with Taiwan mochi balls. To end on a sweet note, guests can enjoy housemade banana pudding or a selection of fun drinks such as iced chocolate, strawberry matcha latte, and more.
Matcha lovers will be excited to try the café’s giant 5-litre iced matcha latte, made with premium Niko Neko matcha and priced at $59.90 (or $69.90 for the strawberry version) – a first in Singapore. The Crayon Shinchan café is halal-certified, GST-free, and will operate for a limited time. A minimum spend of $20 per adult applies before service charge, and children aged 12 and under must order a kid’s meal or snack if seated.
