A new caffeine destination has arrived at Shaw Theatres Lido, and it’s unlike anything on Orchard Road. Centro’s Espresso & Matcha Bar is the first concept in the district where guests can enjoy café-quality beverages pre-show, inside the cinema and post-show, bringing premium coffee culture into the movie experience. Located on Level 5, the space features a stunning fluid ceiling feature with touches of greenery, hand made tiles and customized La Marzocca espresso machine creating a refreshing escape from the bustle outside — ideal for movie patrons, shoppers, and nearby professionals.
In partnership with Toby’s Estate, recently awarded ‘World’s Best Cafe 2025’ – the bar showcases two specialty espresso blends crafted for different tastes. Woolloomooloo delivers rich notes of chocolate, dried fruit, and butterscotch, perfect for milk-based coffees, while Rico offers a bright balance of fruit, honey, and milk chocolate for black coffee enthusiasts. With coffees starting as low as $4 and without any GST or additional taxes, these notable Australian blends elevate a menu of flat whites, cappuccinos, mochas, long blacks. Centro has also created a house-special Salted Caramel Popcorn Latte ($7) with a flavour twist inspired by the movies with its sweet, salty and creamy buttery notes.
Matcha lovers will find a standout selection, including the signature Pomelo Oat Iced Matcha Latte ($7), alongside favourites like the Signature Matcha Latte, Dirty Matcha, and Hojicha Latte. Centro also gives bubble tea a premium twist with drinks such as the Spiced Thai Iced Tea with Cream Cheese Cream ($8), Mango Earl Grey Milk Tea with Mango Cream ($8), and the dramatic Emerald Mist ($9), complete with coconut syrup, pearls, raspberry coconut cream, and edible dry ice.
Ringing in the holidays, Centro presents two seasonal specials: the Eggnog Matcha Latte ($8) and the Eggnog Latte ($8), crafted to bring a touch of festive warmth to the cinema experience.
Whether you’re grabbing a takeaway on-the-go, enjoying a pre-show pick-me-up, unwinding after the credits roll, or simply bringing your favourite cuppa into the theatre to sip as the story unfolds, Centro’s Espresso and Matcha Bar embodies its name, a true hub for gathering, convenience, and a new cinematic café culture in the heart of Orchard.
