Located at ION Orchard, this newly opened kiosk is the brainchild of Surrey Hills Grocer founder Pang Gek Teng. The concept was inspired by a retiring local bao maker who has spent nearly 50 years perfecting his craft. Under his guidance, the kiosk follows a meticulous process, using a natural yeast starter and a slow 14-hour fermentation to achieve a light, slightly chewy texture. With over 10 flavors available, highlights include the Braised Pork Belly Bao, generously filled with tender pork, and the Roasted Char Siew Bao, packed with a sweet and savory char siew filling.
For those seeking simpler options, Bǎo Bāo also offers classic varieties such as Coffee Bao, Lotus Seed Bao, and Bean Paste Bao. Conveniently located at Basement 4 of ION Orchard and directly connected to Orchard MRT Station, the kiosk makes it easy for commuters and shoppers to grab a quick, flavourful bite.
