Singapore’s first Allpress Espresso café and retail pop-up store will be unveiled at 73 Duxton Road in the charming Tanjong Pagar conservation enclave.
Founded in Auckland, New Zealand, in 1989 by Michael Allpress, Allpress Espresso has established itself as a specialty coffee roaster for the best independent cafés around the world. Starting out as New Zealand’s first coffee cart, to roasting coffee in the back of a garage and supplying to cafés around Auckland, Allpress Espresso has evolved into an international brand that is served at over 1,200 establishments around the world, with a footprint in countries such as Australia, Japan, United Kingdom and Singapore.
The brand’s specialty coffee range reflects its expertise, knowledge and passion for creating the iconic flavour. Most notably, Allpress Espresso has used innovative technology to design and build its unique and custom ‘Hot Air Roaster’ from the ground up. This method of hot air roasting, which dissipates the smoky and burnt taste that occurs when using a traditional drum, ensures that each coffee bean is evenly roasted so that its unique characteristics shine through and a consistent flavour is achieved every time.
The Allpress Espresso bar showcases two Allpress Espresso signature medium roast blends; the perfectly balanced Allpress Espresso Blend is sweet and complex with caramel, milk chocolate, and dark fruit notes, while the smooth and mellow Browns Mill Organic possesses a gentle acidity coupled with toffee and juicy citrus nuances that pair well with milk.
Coffee connoisseurs can also look to the pour over bar featuring a seasonal single-origin bean – the current rendition is an organic Peru Estrella Divina. Brewed with the V60 or Kalita brewer which accentuates the innate distinct flavours of the bean, this coffee is brimming with delightful notes of apricot, crisp red apple and hazelnut.
