A Hot Hideout, a well-known mala chain, is set to open its fourth outlet at Junction 10, bringing good news to mala lovers in the west. Originating as a passion project by two NTU students, the chain gained viral attention for its unconventional toppings, such as scrambled eggs and deep-fried items. With its unique approach to mala, A Hot Hideout has expanded to four branches across Singapore, attracting a loyal following.
During a recent visit to the new location, the offerings remained as impressive as ever. Diners can enjoy a wide variety of ingredients, including luncheon meat, pork belly, sausages, tofu skin, spinach, cabbage, and enoki mushrooms, along with a selection of carbs like spinach noodles, rice cakes, and instant noodles. The deep-fried potato and lotus root, sliced thinly into crispy chips, stood out for their delightful texture, accompanied by a variety of sauces and seasonings, including a house-made special.
Situated just outside Bukit Panjang MRT station, the Junction 10 outlet is the chain’s largest yet, with seating for up to 132 diners. The black-and-red interior design, complete with spacious booth seating, provides a welcoming space for groups.
