A new late-night hideaway has arrived on Amoy Street with the opening of Blind Tiger, an intimate speakeasy bar on the second level of Smash Street that blends discretion, precision, and a touch of intrigue.
Named after the clandestine bars of the Prohibition era in the United States, Blind Tiger is the latest concept by the team behind Scarpetta and Smash Street. The name draws from a time when alcohol was banned and hidden drinking spots relied on coded signals, concealed entrances, and a sense of being in the know. Rather than replicating the urgency of that era, Blind Tiger recreates the feeling of discovery through a drinks programme and atmosphere shaped by subtlety and refinement, with layers of character beneath.
Like the blind tigers of the past, the bar’s philosophy is rooted in discretion and quiet precision, with each serve crafted to evoke the spirit of the speakeasy scene, where every sip carries a hint of the forbidden.
Blind Tiger’s cocktail menu channels the lore of hidden bars, bootleg routes, and coded entrances into a collection of drinks that are designed to feel like a quiet indulgence.

Playful and punchy, the Borderline Smuggler ($25) is inspired by the courageous spirit of bootleggers who smuggled spirits across borders to keep speakeasies alive. Jalapeño infused tequila brings the heat, balanced by the sweetness of strawberry and orange for a bold, vibrant finish.
A nod to the coded signals that once let patrons know when it was safe to enter, The Indigo Signal ($25) is built on butterfly pea infused gin. Its deep indigo colour shifts with the addition of citrus, where the bright acidity of yuzu liqueur and lemon is tempered by smooth honey swetness.
As the night deepens, Midnight Shipment ($27) leans into darker, richer territory. Rum meets cold brew coffee, with layers of vanilla and a subtle orange note creating a late night drink that echoes the illicit deliveries that quietly kept underground bars stocked.
Guests can also look forward to a secret bar bites menu coming soon, featuring Smash burger sliders and mini fried chicken caviar sandos, a nod to the bar’s connection with the floor below.
Located above the lively energy of the burger bar, Smash Street, Blind Tiger extends the Amoy Street experience into the night. Guests can begin downstairs with burgers before retreating upstairs for cocktails, or arrive directly for an evening in a space that feels removed from the city outside.
With limited seating and an intentionally intimate atmosphere, Blind Tiger invites guests to linger over beautifully made drinks, easy conversation and the pleasure of being let in on a secret.
