Kopi Siew Dai 咖啡食代 is a new retro-inspired eatery tucked within HomeTeam NS Khatib, just a short walk from Khatib MRT. Designed with nostalgic charm, the space features vintage furnishings, pastel walls, and old-school memorabilia, creating a cosy, throwback atmosphere. It’s part of the wave of Nanyang Kopitiam-style cafes popping up across the island, with a focus on traditional flavours and a welcoming vibe.
Now in its soft launch, the menu includes Toast Sets, Bee Hoon, Nasi Lemak, and local-style Signatures. The standout dish is the Nasi Lemak Fried Chicken Cutlet—served with fragrant pandan-infused basmati rice, crispy anchovies, tangy achar, and a perfectly fried egg. The chicken cutlet itself is juicy and crisp, while the sambal strikes a balance of sweetness and heat. Another highlight is the Kaya Butter Toast Set, which features Hainanese-style kaya, soft-boiled eggs, and a strong, well-brewed cup of kopi.
Though still ironing out some operational kinks, Kopi Siew Dai shows promise with its hearty portions and approachable menu. It doesn’t serve pork or lard, making it a versatile spot for the neighbourhood crowd. With its nostalgic aesthetic and comfort food appeal, it’s a charming new addition to the Khatib dining scene.
