Avenue’J, a homegrown café brand from Myanmar, has opened its first overseas outlet in the heart of Singapore. Located within the School of the Arts (SOTA), this charming spot introduces authentic Burmese cuisine to the local dining scene. With two existing outlets in Yangon’s Sanchaung Township, Avenue’J brings its culinary roots to Singapore with a warm, minimalistic space that blends modern and traditional aesthetics.
The menu highlights beloved Burmese dishes such as Lahpet Thoke (S$10), a tea leaf salad packed with bold flavours and contrasting textures, and Nan Gyi Thoke (S$12), a thick rice noodle dish tossed in fragrant curry sauce. Another popular choice is Mohinga (S$15), a comforting fish noodle soup that’s considered Myanmar’s national dish. Alongside these traditional offerings, Avenue’J surprises guests with a well-loved Brownie (S$5), which has earned praise online as one of the best in Singapore.
Beyond the food, Avenue’J also impresses with its drinks menu. Burmese Ceylon Tea (S$6) appears to be a customer favourite, while the café’s specialty coffee is brewed using beans sourced directly from Myanmar. With a diverse menu featuring rice, curries, pastries, and homemade dishes, Avenue’J offers a unique dining experience in a welcoming setting — perfect for casual hangouts, meetings, or a quiet place to study.
