Peng Jia Zhou (彭家粥) introduces Singapore’s first DIY congee concept, offering diners the chance to customise their own bowl of porridge with a wide selection of fresh ingredients. Located at the food court in ESR BizPark Chai Chee (just past Decathlon), this new eatery brings a nostalgic comfort food experience with a modern, interactive twist. Guests can choose from over 16 ingredient options, including prawns, mushrooms, pork liver, and more—allowing for endless variations of hearty, steaming bowls.
The concept is straightforward: select your desired ingredients, which are priced at $5 per 100g (with a minimum order of 100g), and the congee itself is included at no extra charge. Weighing scales are available at the counter so customers can keep track of their total cost before ordering. Much like DIY mala or yong tau foo stalls, Peng Jia Zhou puts the power of flavour in the hands of the diner—only this time, it’s all about creating that perfect bowl of congee.
Beyond customisable porridge, the menu also features a tempting array of side dishes. Highlights include the crispy Fried Large Intestine ($6.90), savoury Hakka Style Fried Pork ($5.90), Pang’s Century Egg ($5.90), and the richly flavoured Moonlight Salted Egg (Prawn & Pork)—though availability may vary. With its fresh ingredients and nostalgic appeal, Peng Jia Zhou delivers a comforting, made-to-order experience that invites diners to rediscover the simple pleasure of congee.
