Set to debut in mid-January 2025 at Mandarin Gallery, Modu brings a fresh twist to Singapore’s Korean dining scene as a samgyetang-specialty restaurant. Helmed by the team behind Drim Korean Steakhouse – famously visited by Korean star Cha Eun Woo – Modu showcases a variety of ginseng chicken soups with unique flavors alongside traditional boryang-sik (health foods). Diners can look forward to dishes like black sesame and black chicken (ogol-gye) samgyetang, goji berry-infused variations, and even a spicy broth praised for its hangover-curing prowess.
The name Modu, which means “everyone” in Korean (모두), reflects the restaurant’s inclusive philosophy, inviting people of all backgrounds to indulge in the rich and nutritious experience of modern Korean cuisine. With a menu that combines health and elegance, Modu delivers a luxurious yet wholesome feast designed to nourish and delight. Samgyetang, a hallmark of boryang-sik, takes center stage here, offering a delicious way to restore strength, boost vitality, or simply enjoy a comforting, nutritious meal.
Rooted in Korea’s culinary tradition, boryang-sik refers to specially prepared dishes aimed at enhancing health and recovery. These nutrient-rich meals, often consumed during recovery or after enduring harsh weather, represent a time-honored approach to well-being. At Modu, this philosophy is elevated through innovative flavors and premium ingredients, ensuring an unforgettable dining experience for all.
