Singapore will soon welcome RASA, a vibrant new space dedicated to music, arts, and culture, officially launching in January 2025. Located in downtown Singapore, RASA combines expertly curated music programming with meticulously designed interiors, offering guests an immersive artistic retreat.
Spanning 6,114 sq. ft., the venue is divided into two distinctive rooms, each delivering a unique ambience and soundscape. Hall caters to those seeking a laid-back vibe, featuring genres such as UK garage, downtempo, reggae, funk, and slow-mo from Wednesday to Saturday. In contrast, Floor takes visitors on a dynamic musical journey, starting with ‘90s and early 2000s classics on Thursdays and transitioning to energising house on Fridays, complete with surprise theatrical elements. Saturdays bring an eclectic mix of acid house, broken beat, and electro.
The experience is elevated by RASA’s state-of-the-art custom-designed TPI soundsystem, developed by AV consultant Sean Iskhandar, ensuring impeccable sound quality. Adding to its allure is the innovative interior design by Berlin-based Studio Karhard, famed for iconic projects like Berghain and Kyiv’s K41. Co-founder Thomas Karsten describes the style as “modern and futuristic yet warm and welcoming.” Complementing the design, Bandung-based Convert Textured brings immersive lighting that enhances RASA’s unique atmosphere.
At its core, RASA embodies the philosophy of being “Southeast Asian at heart, global in spirit,” celebrating regional culture while embracing international collaborations. Founder Kavan Spruyt envisions RASA as a platform where local talent shines alongside global artists. As part of its programming, RASA will host Wild Pearl’s Community Night every Wednesday, creating an inclusive space for artists and audiences to connect and celebrate shared creativity.
