Adding to the Italian restaurant scene, Fortuna Singapore – the Asian branch of the popular Sydney establishment – is set to debut this month. Dubbed Singapore’s first Sicilian-Neapolitan restaurant, it brings together renowned pizzaiolo Giorgio Sorce, ranked #87 worldwide, and Chef Omar Tutino, who trained under Michelin-starred Masterchef Antonio Cannavacciuolo. The menu features highlights like homemade spaghetti with Mazzara king prawns, perfectly cooked al dente, topped with breadcrumbs, and doused in an addictive bisque.
The pizzas at Fortuna are fermented for 50 hours in-house and include quintessential Italian classics such as Marinara, Margherita, and Diavola. A standout item is the fried gambero and stracciata pizza, where the dough is gently fried and then oven-cooked for an extra crunchy texture. This pizza is topped with shrimp, cheese, pesto, tomatoes, a cured egg yolk, and lemon zest, making it a must-try.
Located in the heart of Tanjong Pagar, Fortuna offers a casual Italian trattoria and pizzeria experience. The restaurant aims to blend the vibrant chaos of Naples with the soulful essence of Sicily. Run by three friends who are chefs and people lovers, Fortuna is more than just a dining spot – it promises a unique and fun dining experience, stepping away from the usual and serving up Italian love in every dish.
