Stepping into Lovelots, Orchard Central’s newest jewel, is an experience that captivates the senses. Coveted handbags from Hermes to Chanel grace gleaming display shelves, exuding an irresistible allure. Plush cushioned seats adorn the sleek interior, inviting visitors to linger and explore.
At the helm of Lovelots are Peter Ang, 36, and Zhennie Tan, 35, who this year celebrate not only their 10th wedding anniversary but also the grand opening of Lovelots’ new space in the heart of Orchard Road.
As visitors peruse the boutique’s extensive collection of designer handbags, few would imagine that this bustling enterprise began as a one-person operation in Ms. Tan’s humble abode.
Ms. Tan shared that her journey started as a hobby during her student days in 2008. Driven by her passion for fashion, she began selling clothes and shoes at flea markets, renting booths for around $70 to $80 each. Despite the modest setup, her keen eye for trends allowed her to turn a profit of over $100 per day.
With her earnings, she delved deeper into her love for designer handbags, sourcing them from online platforms like eBay and secondhand shops in Far East Plaza.
