Meatchelin is opening of its highly anticipated restaurant and bar in Tanjong Pagar. This unique culinary destination on Level 2 is set to become Singapore’s go-to spot for an unparalleled Korean- style lamb BBQ experience, a first-of-its-kind locally. With this concept already a sensation in Korea, Meatchelin brings to Singapore the artistry of ‘Oppa’ Chefs, showcasing their culinary skills live at the bar counter seats exclusively reserved for 20 guests.
The showstopper is Meatchelin’s signature lamb ribs set ($138 for six pieces or top-up $48 for an additional two pieces), featuring free-range, grass-fed lamb raised on Australia’s sprawling pastures for ten months. The quick, one-minute, 30-second barbecue process seals in juicy flavours. Guests can enhance their lamb BBQ experience by dipping the ribs into a special homemade Korean sauce; a secret recipe passed down over three generations ago.
This heirloom sauce comprises over ten ingredients including: Japanese ponzu, lemon, garlic, onion, vinegar, and red and green chilis. The barbecue experience is further elevated with fresh cherry tomatoes, okra, onions, bean sprouts, leek, and whole garlic cloves, grilled counterside by the ‘Oppas.’ The signature lamb ribs are elegantly plated on crystal glass with choices of ssamjang (Korean spicy dipping sauce), real wasabi, Himalayan salt, and cumin powder to make each bite different and flavorful. Accompanying the dishes is a standout of masterfully handmade Korean white kimchi. Not only is it a delightful fusion of fruits and vegetables such as onion, garlic, leek, pear, and apple, but this crowd-pleaser is also a visual treat.
What sets Meatchelin apart from other Korean barbeques is its chic, inviting interior, the meats expertly grilled for you, and the unique experience of signature white kimchi crafted tableside right before the guests’ eyes. The freshness and authenticity of this process add a distinctive touch to the whole dining experience.
